How to stay motivated.

How to stay motivated.

“But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through the generations” Psalm 20:4

God has great plans for your life. He has a purpose, a plan for you and he wants you to thrive, succeed and flourish in all that you do.

Sometimes it easy to lose sight of the plan God has for us and get distracted on other things. It's easy to lose motivation when we don’t reach a goal or see the results we were hoping for.

Have you ever set a certain goal and been working towards it, but all of a sudden you lose motivation or momentum?

Have you written a list of goals at the start of a new year, but a few months later you get busy and forget about them?

How do you stay motivated when it comes to working towards goals?

Work towards 1 goal!

Make it simple.

Too often we get overwhelmed with too many goals and things we want to change in our lives and it becomes too hard, so we just give up.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13

The most important thing to do when it comes to working towards goals is looking at the goal long term, rather than short term, and thinking about the habits you need to start on a weekly basis to reach that goal.

Break down the steps you need to take to get to that goal, and work on one step at a time. When you start taking positive steps forward, this will help you to stay positive and motivated to reach your long term goals.

I wanted to get healthy and instead of overhauling my entire diet, I just started with the habit of drinking more water. I put water bottles all around the house, where I could see them, as I reminder to drink more water.

After a few weeks, I noticed that I was drinking more water and that the habit of drinking more water was helping towards my goal of being a healthy person.

What habit do you need to start this week that can help you work towards your goals?

Start with one habit at a time and just focus on that habit for a few weeks until it becomes apart of your daily routine.

If you have lost motivation or momentum, you can always start again, don’t give up!
