My story.
My story.
A few years ago, I gave birth to my son and it was a beautiful event. I am so grateful for him and I am thankful that I have the chance to be a mother.
After I had my son, I felt pretty worn out, tired and a bit lost. I felt like I had lost my direction for my life and almost lost apart of myself. It was a big life transition that I wasn’t fully prepared for, and I also didn’t know how to find my way out of that season of life.
Have you ever felt like you have gone through a big change in your life that you didn’t expect, and you didn’t know how to navigate the changes or “find yourself” again?
I read a book about the importance of building daily habits and how starting healthy habits can help to change your life.
I started trying different things to help me find my way again, and I wanted to be strong in my mind, body and soul.
These are some of the daily habits that I started a few years ago, that helped my find my “mojo” again.
1. Drinking lots of water and eating healthy food.
I started putting water bottles around the house, and every time I saw a water bottle I would have a drink. I also put a water bottle on my bed side table and every morning when I wake up I have a nice big drink. I started building the habit of eating healthy food by eating a salad every day for lunch, meat and vegetables for dinner most nights and a shake for breakfast. I feel so much better now, because of my daily intake of water and healthy food.
2. Movement
I felt so tired after the birth of my son, and my body felt weak. I knew I had to start doing something to build more strength in my body, so I started going for a walk every morning. Going for a daily walk was a very important habit that helped me in so many ways. It was a great way for me to start the day, because I got my body moving, and I felt like I had so much energy. This habit of daily exercise has made a big impact on my overall well-being.
3. Try new things
I started going to new cafes, trying out new clothes, and trying new food. I had got in a routine of doing the same thing, and I needed to try new things again so I could kickstart the process of finding myself again.
Every week I would challenge myself to try something new and make this as a habit in my life has helped me become more adventurous.
Wherever you are on your life journey at the moment, I want to encourage you that its never to late to start making changes to your life to find yourself again. If you have lost your “mojo” don’t worry, you’ll find it again. This week, I encourage you to sit down with a piece of paper and write down one daily habit that you can start that is going to help you change your life.
