What to do if you need a breakthrough.
What to do if you need a breakthrough.
"Your light will break forth like the dawn and your healing will quickly appear" Isaiah 58:8
The other day I woke up and it was a cloudy day. The sky was covered with clouds and you couldn't see the sunshine. I knew the sunshine was up above the clouds, but I just couldn't see it. I went to work and when I came home, I looked up and saw that the sunshine had started to break through the clouds and by the afternoon, all the clouds had cleared and the sunshine was beaming down on everything.
Are you facing something in your life at the moment and you need God to break through for you?
What can you do when you are believing for a breakthrough?
Don't give up!
Sometimes when we are in the middle of facing challenging times in our family, our workplace, our health, our marriage and our finances, the easiest thing would be to give up. I have felt like giving up many times. I have experienced in my own life that when I persevered through difficult times, that on the other side of it was a breakthrough and a new level of faith in God.
We need to decide ahead of time that we are NOT going to give up or give in, regardless of how hard it is. When we decide ahead of time that we will continue to push through, it gives us determination and strength.
I love this quote from Jentezen Franklin which says "The enemy's goal is to get your eyes off what's on the other side of the storm. Why? Because he knows your reward is on the other side. Not at the beginning, not in the middle, when you feel discouraged, but at the end."
Fill your mind with testimonies of other people that have been through difficult times and got a breakthrough.
Meditate on God's Word.
Find a passage in God's Word to apply to the situation you are going through and meditate on it, day and night. The bible is full of passages of God's love for us, hope, comfort, guidance and peace. When we focus on God's word, it helps us to get our eyes off ourselves, and back onto God as our healer, provider, friend, father and restorer.
Here is a couple of verses that are my favourites:
"Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we don't give up." Galatians 6:9
"For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised" Hebrews 10:36
"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6
It is easy to focus on our circumstances and think about them. That is not going to help us get through. As we focus our minds on God's Word, it gives us hope, encouragement and faith to continue to push through and not give up. On the other side of whatever you are facing, I am believing God has a new level of victory and faith for you.
